The Alliance Community is a not-for-profit ministry of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Foundation committed to honoring God and individuals the community serves by providing a comprehensive continuum of housing, health care and other supportive services which promote Christian fellowship and ministry, independence, dignity, wellness, and the highest quality of life.

Bill Anderson
Executive Director

Bill Anderson is a 19 year veteran of the Health Care Services industry. Since 2002, he has been with the Alliance Community for Retirement Living in the role of Executive Director. He spent 12 years managing in the Health Care Division of ServiceMaster, a Fortune 500 Company, providing Health Care Management Services throughout the United States.
Bill has been an active Rotarian and member of the Deland Rotary since 2002, he enjoys spending time with his family, travel and an occasional golf outing.
Bill is married and has a college age son.
Kevin Smaage
Director of Health Services

Kevin Smaage is the Director of Health Services at The Alliance Community for Retirement Living and has served in this capacity since July 2002. He has been involved with senior living services since 1992. For 11 of those years, Kevin has served as the Administrator at several Florida Nursing Homes and worked as a Corporate Consultant assisting Long Term Care Nursing facilities with operational and regulatory issues.
Kevin's first career was as a minister with the Church of Christ and has served churches in Ohio and Indiana. Kevin's concern for people began early in life and can be traced to his years in Africa as a "missionary kid" where his parents worked with Africans in Ghana and South Africa for 12 years.
Kevin is married and has two adopted children ages 5 and 10 years old. Kevin remains active in Christian Service and teaches and counsels young people. His favorite past times are golf, fishing, and travel.
Dean Miller
Director of Operations

Dean was hired in January 2001 to serve our retirement community as the Manager of Human Resources. Dean was quickly promoted to Director of Operations, a position created to meet the growing needs of our community. Dean’s responsibilities include oversight of Environmental Services, Food Services, Maintenance, Public Safety and Human Resources.
Prior to his employment with the Alliance Community for Retirement Living, Inc. Dean served 30 years as an officer in the United States Coast Guard retiring in July 1998. During his career Dean served in numerous management positions in fields such as law enforcement, paralegal, education and housing, receiving 30 personal service awards. After his retirement from the Coast Guard, Dean was the Director of Disaster Services for a three county area with the American Red Cross in Illinois and later an Area Human Resource Manager for a company supplying health care related professionals to various prisons and jails throughout the United States. Dean possesses a Bachelor of Science Degree from Columbia College in Missouri. Dean is married and has six grown children and eight grandchildren.
Earl Mallory
Director of Sales and Marketing

Earl Mallory has been the Sales and Marketing Director for The Alliance Community for Retirement Living since 2008. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army and since graduating from The University of Central Florida with a degree in Communications, Earl has spent the majority of his professional career in sales and marketing.
Earl has traveled extensively in his life, having been in over 130 cities in 21 different countries. He is also the Vice President of the Board of Directors for the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity. Earl settled in DeLand in 2002 with his wife, Angela and two kids, Kaylin and Seth. When not at work, he spends time volunteering at his church, or with friends.
Annette Lynch
Admissions Coordinator

Annette Lynch is the Admission Coordinator for the Center for Health Care and the Center for Assisted Living. She has been in the health care industry for over 23 years. She was awarded the prestigious Social Worker of the Year award by Senior Living Magazine and was honored with sales and marketing awards for many consecutive years.
Annette is married and has one child. She enjoys spending time with her family, reading, camping and fishing
